“This passed weekend in Cary, NC we held the second annual Sk8 Cary Inline Skate Contest. It was a blast! tons of skaters from all over North Carolina showed up to compete! I myself sat this one out to help announce and judge, along with Dillon Millsap, Devon Avant, Scott Rhue, TJ Blanchflower and Brandon Peters. We had lots of judges to make sure there wasnt any bias between friends. Everybody that was there killed it! doing tons of incredible things I had never seen done at that park before. Everybody killed the sub-box out of the quarter, but my favorite trick was Jordan Adams with the fast plant off the coping to AO top porn on the sub-box. Lots of young heads came out too, Zach Marino competed in the Advanced devision and had some crazy tricks! Also my little buddy Aaron Bailey came out for intermediate, and won first prize!

Once the judges narrowed it down to our final 6 skaters, we had a hell of a time trying to decide who should win. Every one there skated the park in their own unique and impressive way. The judges then chose to only take into consideration the skating from the final round, not from the entire day, to come up with a winner. It was Jon Cooley with some INCREDIBLE lines that did it for him. At the start of his heat he did, i think, switch AO top porn on the 9 foot, to parallel grab 5, to regular AO top porn on the escalator coping, to illusion fakie parallel grab 5 on the 7 foot quarter. It was insane. That line along with a few more incredible huge tricks from Mr. Cooley secured him the win, and all of that prize money. Congratulations Cooley and everyone else who places, as well as a HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and made this event what it was.
