Fantastic Puncher DVD
These days, it’s hard for anybody to make a skate video that really stands apart from all the rest. Although, I’d say the dudes over there in Japan have done a really good job of that with Fantastic Puncher. This video gives us a good walkthrough of what it’s like to blade over in Japan. It features skating from Kazuya Ito, Chiaki Ito, Shintaro Nakayama, Schusei Baba, and many many more.
This was definitely a video that I could watch to get me juiced to skate. One of my personal favorite skaters, Chiaki Ito, had one of the sickest sections I’ve seen in a long time. I had previously seen his section in the prequel to this video, Bloodstained Concrete, so I knew I had a lot to look forward to. I mainly like the style of this video, the editing is really unique. They use a lot of different characters and graphics to make the video even more fun to watch… it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before in a skate video. Also the choice of music is awesome. They only use 5 different artists in the video, but about 14 different songs; and all of the songs work perfectly with the skating.
It’s awesome to see a whole different culture of skating. They aren’t all about just skating handrails and doing 360 souls. They’re creative with the spots that they skate and the tricks that they do. They skate a ton of sick banks, wallrides/gaps, ledges, and city structures that your average rollerblader wouldn’t even think of skating. Watching this video has really opened my mind to rollerblading and made me realize how creative we can be… we can pretty much skate anything!
Fantastic Puncher is definitely a skate video that you have to watch and see for yourself to really understand how sick it is. If you’re looking for an awesome video to get you juiced to get out and skate, this is definitely the one for you. Be prepared to be amazed! ok i thought this video was going to be really good, and i was right to some extent. the filming and editing was great, alot of really great tricks with good angles. however the architecture is not so great in japan from what i see. there is more innovativness on pointless shit then there is quality hammers being dropped. chiaki ito is sick tho. peace
