One of the most important things a rollerblader can do is to recruit other people to start rollerblading. The more people that skate, the stronger the sport will be. I have noticed this happening in many different ways. Skaters that have been around for a while have been encouraging younger new skaters to try harder. Instead of making fun of younger rollers for not being able to do as many tricks, I have seen the older skaters encouraging them, and teach them more tricks. This makes kids want to skate for a long time and get their friends to skate, rather than making them feel bad about skating and just quit. Another thing I have noticed is rollerblading is starting to appeal to a lot more people. The clothing companies are starting to make different varieties of designs, and most of them are making sizes small through double extra large in their t shirts. Another big way that skating is appealing to more people is the recent boom in new quality skate companies. After the release of the new Stygma clothing line and Undercover wheels, I felt like skating was getting that much bigger and better. These 2 fresh new companies are climbing their way up the ladder very quickly and providing rollers with some sick products on their way up.

Stygma Clothing is a hot new skating company that makes a range of sick products for any level of skater. They also have a sick team witch is still growing including the hammer dropping Carlos Pianowski. The new Stygma line that is in stock at Rollerwarehouse includes some sick t-shirts. The Stygma Lazo long-sleeved shirt is very nice; it is a long sleeved shirt that has the Stygma cursive writing really big on the side of the shirt. The line that extends off of the letters is whirling around the bottom of the shirt making for a super fresh design. This shirt is available in charcoal or white. The ying yang shirt is another one that will be a hot seller. It features a logo that is only in the upper right hand corner of the shirt. It shows a splash of ink and says Stygma across it half in white and the other half outlined by the splash. The logo extends onto the top of the sleeve a little bit giving the shirt a really unique design. You can get the Ying Yang shirt in black or red and the same logo is also available in a hooded sweatshirt. Be sure to check out the Stygma Anorak jacket. It reminds me of the old senate windbreakers from back in the day. It is 100% nylon and rainproof. The sport jacket by Stygma is a fashionable way to stay warm. It is a 100% cotton zip up track jacket with a very subtle classic looking logo on the breast. I can’t wait till it is cold enough to wear this one! And just to show how innovative and new school Stygma clothing is, they offer some unique products. The Stygma flip-flops are amazing. They are so comfortable, affordable and stylish. They are black with clear straps, with the doll logo in the middle of the strap. On the soul of the flip-flop it reads Stygma in cursive and white writing. These are perfect for me right now because it is so hot out here in California. The other product that made me realize that this company is a quality one is the leather wallet. Most skate wallets are decent, but just not good enough to use as your real everyday wallet. Well the Stygma wallet is the best wallet I have ever seen from a skate company. It is made of really nice leather and has the logo embedded in the corner of the wallet. They even offer a Stygma I am a Rollerblader Tie for you snazzy dressers. Over all this Line is amazing. It offers something for everyone, and is sure to catch the eye of people who are trying to get into skating. Expect a lot good things from Stygma in the future.

Another new company that is making headlines and selling a lot of wheels is Undercover wheels. I thought it would be hard for a new wheel company to flourish in the industry at this time due to all the great wheels such as Mindgame, Eulogy, and Senate, But Undercover wheels proved me wrong. They have a really nice slick anti rocker in the Richie Eisler wheel, it is a 48/100 wheel that will be perfect for grinds. The Ryan Northway and Carlos Pianowski pro wheels are really nice. The urethane they use feels really good and seems like it would last a really long time. The graphic on the Carlos wheel shows his face all bloody and has a red, black and white background. It is a 55/90 wheel. The Northway is sick too. It has a city backdrop and a face on the side of it. The measurements for the Northway wheel are 57/90. These wheels are only 26 dollars for a 4 pack right now at www.rollerwarheouse.com. The new Bennet 57/88 wheel is also available. Undercover is getting themselves some really nice exposure to the rollerblading public. They recently acquired one of Nor-Cal’s best skaters named Victor Arias, and with Bennet, Northway, and Pianowski, this team is no joke. I think it is really important for these wheel companies to have a solid team like this. It will make more people interested in their wheel, and once someone buys the wheel they will keep buying them because of the long lasting urethane and the sick graphics.

I am very pleased with the direction these new companies are going. One of the easiest ways to keep rollers wanting to roll is by providing them with sick products. Stygma clothes really appeal to a wide variety of people. And the Undercover wheel company is making some really nice wheels, with graphics that anyone would want to have on their feet. In an industry where it is easy to blend in with the rest, these new companies are really standing out. I think these wheels and clothes may be the first class of many innovative products to come from Undercover wheels, and Stygma clothing.
