TSG Skate Helmet, Knee & Elbow Pads
Around everyone’s area, I’m sure there is a skate park that requires you to wear a bunch of skate pads in order to skate. Now I’m talking about a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and sometimes even more. Sometimes this can turn me away from a skate park because I never like to deal with having to wear a butt-load of uncomfortable pads for the whole time. Luckily for me and all you other skaters, we don’t have to worry about being uncomfortable while skating at parks anymore. TSG has just released a whole new line of sick pads that protect you well, but also don’t make you feel like you’re wearing football pads while you’re skating. After I got word that Roller Warehouse got these new pads in stock, I immediately got myself a pair and went out to my local skate park to try em out.
The first thing I put on when I got to the skate park was the new TSG Evolution helmet. Within a few seconds of skating, I realize how comfortable this helmet actually was. It fit so perfect on my head. It wasn’t too tight to wear, it didn’t cut off circulation to my head, and it wasn’t to loose. Also, the ventilation system within the helmet is dope. It actually has heat sucking ventilation so that the hot air from the front of the helmet is pulled through to the back so that you barely even get hot while skating. This helmet is also really lightweight. I could hardly feel it on top of my head while I was blading around the park. I think it was mostly due to the sick padding mold inside the helmet. It felt like it was actually made specifically for my head. And did I mention how dope the colors are with these helmets!? I was sporting the solid “flat black” and it matched perfectly with my style.
I didn’t get a chance to ride the Skate/BMX helmet that TSG just came out with, although this helmet looked really similar to the Evolution helmet. The Skate/BMX helmet is more low-profile than the Evolution helmet. This helmet also has a ton of vents in the helmet, 13 to be exact, to keep your head cooled off while you’re tearing up the park. What’s really dope about this helmet is that all the pads are exchangeable. So when you’ve been riding those pads for forever and they are starting to smell funky, you can change those out for a fresh new set. It also comes in some really fresh looking colors. Fourteen different colors so you can choose the perfect one for your skating style. This helmet comes at a great price and with great protection so you can get the biggest ‘bang for your buck’.
After a few more minutes, I decided to go all out and put on all the pads before the park enforcer decided to harass me about not wearing my pads. I then tried on the TSG All Terrain kneepads and elbow pads. Right after I put them on, I realized that I wasn’t going to have to worry about being uncomfortable. Both the elbow and knee pads come with a neoprene slip and two strong Velcro straps so that you can slide on the pads and then you can lock it down with the straps for ultimate security. The plastic protection caps on the front of the pads are perfect. They provide perfect protection over my whole elbows and knees. I skated around in these pads for at least 45 minutes and I didn’t even realize I was wearing pads the whole time. The double layered foam on the inside of the pad is the best part. During one of the very rare time that I would fall, I could barely even feel my knees press again the pads. The padding cushions the inside to perfection. These knee and elbow pads are a great addition to any park or street skater.
After that intense park session, I decided to go out and try to skate street. Recently, I had been having some knee problems and my knee couldn’t handle with landing off drops or gaps. So I give the new TSG Knee Gasket/Brace a shot. The brace is an all neoprene sleeve with flexible steel inserts for perfect support and comfort while you’re skating. It’s made nice and thin so that it can fit under your jeans or even under you kneepads without even knowing it’s there. They also had Velcro on the front to secure your kneepads to the Gaskets, so they don’t move around when skating. It made it much more comfortable for just when I was skating around. This knee gasket/brace is a great thing for anyone who needs that extra support for their knees.
Riding these new TSG products really made me realize that wear pads aren’t so bad if you’re comfortable. As I grow older I’ve come to understand that taking care of your body is one of the most important things you can do for your future. Safety comes first when dealing with your life so why not do it in style and comfort. This is Lineback916 comin at you live and on that real safe tip. Stay classy!!!
