USD Eisler Carbon Free Grey Boots
USD just dropped their Eisler pro carbon free skate in a brand new dark charcoal grey color. The same great skate with a cool new look, this skate comes as a boot only this time as well. First i’ll explain what a Carbon Free Boot is for those who have no idea. So USD initially made the regular Carbon style skate, now the regular Carbon skates have an inner shell that is made of carbon fiber. Now the Carbon Free’s have an inner shell that’s made of fiberglass reinforced nylon (plastic). The Carbon Free’s are meant to give the same look and feel of a regular Carbon, at a much cheaper price, so those of you who can’t afford the fancy Carbon 3’s & 4′s can still get their hands on a super lightweight skate.
Sizing:
These skates run very true to size. They will definitely be a little bit tight at first, but that is normal and a good thing. Because what ends up happening after a week or so worth of skating, is the liner will start to break in and form to your foot, giving you a lot more room than you started out with. The Liners:
These skates features a built in/non-removable liner, this will increase the responsiveness of your skate, since the actual shell and the liner are one. Keep in mind these liners are not replaceable, so to get the most out of the skates you need to make sure your unlacing your skates all the way before you taken them on/off. Be gentile when your putting them on or taking them off, the more you try to jam your foot in or rip it out, the more damage the liner will take. These liners are just as durable as any other aggressive liner.
The Soulplates: USD Carbon Soul Plates
These are the souls that come on all USD Carbon Free or Carbon Skates. These soulplates offer a slim-lined profile with anatomical backslide. These are poured from a very hard plastic, provided much needed durability. If your wanting something a little more beefy check out the USD VII Soul Plates, those work as well on this skate. Those and the USD Carbon Soul Plates souls are available in a wide variety of different colors. The Cuffs: USD Carbon II Cuffs
These are the cuffs that come stock on these blades. The inner Carbon Fiber shell doesn’t go all the way to the top of the skate, it stops before the ball of your ankle. So having this cuff on is a must for that much needed support. Beefy v-cut in the back to match the shape of the boot to provide optimum flex while keeping substantial support. Slits in the cuff help with this as well.
