We Are Valo 2 DVD
We Are Valo 2
Valo is one of the hottest skate teams in rollerblading today. They have some amazing skaters like Sean Keane, Erik Bailey, Victor Arias, Jon Julio, Cossimo Tassone, Alex Broskow, Tyrone Ballantine, Ross Kuhn, and Soichiro Kanashima. And when they all collaborate together to make a video, you KNOW it’s going to be amazing… and that’s what it was! We Are Valo 2 has just recently been released and it is definitely one of the illest videos that I’ve seen thus far in 2007.
This skate DVD is kicked off with a section from the man himself, Jon Julio. It’s a classic Julio section with crazy wallrides and creative lines which really set him apart from a lot of the other skaters out there. That section truly shows that rollerblading really has no limits to what you can do. Another section that stood out to me was Ross Kuhn. In his profile, he laces some crazy sweatstances, dropped kinked rails, and an insane curved wallride that doesn’t even seem possible. All brought together with some squeaky clean style, Ross is definitely an up and coming talent in rollerblading.
Sean Keane and Tyron Ballantine shared a section in the video. The section featured some of the best skating that I’ve seen from both skaters. Sean laces some big stunts, like a full cab back nugen on a huge kinked ledge; and also some pretty technical deals that you really just have to see for yourself. Tyron also threw down some huge hammers. Like some crazy true topsoyales and a royale on a giant kinked rail as his last trick… the kid is insane! And of course, they both have some smooth style that will really get you juiced to go out and skate.
Although, if you’re looking for something to get you pumped to skate, I would suggest my personal favorite section in the video, Erik Bailey. This section wasn’t at all like any other Bailey section that I’ve seen. Of course, he laces some huge stunts and hammers, like he always does. But these stunts were featured mainly on the streets of San Francisco. Bailey did some huge gaps and tricks on the hills of the city, and made it look way easier than it is. He also stuck to his expectations and did some crazy ledges and rails… all in all, I think he had the most well-rounded section in the video. This section really got me juiced to go out and try to lace some stunts, of course, I’m not as good as Erik at it.
We Are Valo 2 features a bunch of other Valo skaters like Tory Treseder, Joey Ihara, Ivan Narez, Michael Braud, and many many more. Also, there’s some sick bonus footage, like a day in the life with Brandon Smith, so you can see exactly was goes on in the day of a professional rollerblading photographer.
