NEW Release: TNEC 58 Skates

Written by RW

TNEC or The New Everything Company. Brings you their very first skate release. The TNEC 58 was made to be the absolute best price point skate on the market. The main focus of the TNEC 58 skate is to create the absolute best option for people getting into aggressive skating. This skate is strongly recommended for ANY and ALL beginner – intermediate aggressive skaters.

  • One piece Soulframe
  • Lightweight
  • Wider fit
  • Wheel bite protection on frame groove
  • 58mm wheels setup flat
  • Dual fit liner with neoprene toe
  • Riveted Cuffs, Souls, and Buckles

While these skates were made to be at a lower price point they have some very awesome features that make them a very unique ride compared to most other skates….

First off the biggest difference from most other skates is that the TNEC 58 features a one-piece Soulframe. Meaning the soul plate and the frame are all one piece. This greatly reduces the amount of plastic and hardware used under the boot. The main thing you’ll notice with this soul frame is how close to the foot grinds will feel. On coping, rails, and any smooth ledge/curb these will slide super fast.

If you like the idea of an light skate. Then these will feel amazing on your feet. The TNEC 58 is currently the lightest skate on the market. Even with a flat rocker wheel setup and liner upgrade. The weight reduction is due to the one-piece soul frame, as well as having rivets instead of hardware. So the soulframe is stuck on there, which may seem like a disadvantage. However, it definitely is nice not having to worry about loose soul screws ever. This is the first version of this skate though, so having the riveted soul may change in the future.

The overall fit of the skate is also another area where this skate can be a bit unique. The way they are designed they look similar to classic skate models such as the Roces M12 and Razors Cult skates. However, while those skates are tried and true classic choices, they also sport a super narrow fit. Which can be tough on the feet. The TNEC 58 keeps those clean classic aesthetics while having a wider fit in the forefoot. Overall they are low volume in the shell, with a tighter fit over the forefoot. A refined fit that can be dialed in with different thickness liners, insoles, socks, etc.. Comparable to how a USD Aeon Or Razors Shift can fit. But with more snugness around he heel/ankle, while having a bit more room in the toe box. Comes with a surprisingly decent stock liner, complete with carrying strap and neoprene toe. These fit very true to size and can be hard to downsize the shell if you’re into that. So we suggest sticking with your normal size.

Right out the box these skates come setup 58mm flat rocker. All 8 wheels same size in a vibrant color that matches the cuff bolt. If you aren’t digging the pink or green, then TNEC has your back with a plain Black/white version available as a boot only. The frame itself has a nice amount of wheel bite protection. So it’s a great frame for flat rocker, however it’s also equally as good for anti-rocker after a little bit of break in time to mellow out the groove.

On the first ride you’ll notice these skates may seem a bit stiff. The plastic used in the shell seems to be of higher quality and more supportive then some other brands. They break in quite nicely though and end up with a good supportive flex. One weird feature is that the cuff can actually lean backwards quite a bit. Not too noticeable once your all strapped in. Some people love it for getting an extra deep stretch on certain tricks. If it’s an issue the cuff can be bolted stuck through the shell with some soul plate hardware.

Overall these skates are a truly unique ride compared to most skates on the market. While they don’t look like they have a ton of bells and whistles, the TNEC 58 is a breath of fresh air. They are definitely worth a try.
